Tasting Note: R&D is short for ‘Research and Development,’ referring to the successful experimental approach taken by Culmina Family Estate Winery. The name also honours Culmina co-proprietor Don Triggs and his twin brother, Ron; their images are depicted on the label. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is complex and layered on the nose, with ripe cherry, raspberry and plum. Firm, ripe and tangy with great balance. This will be a great barbecue wine, especially when paired with your favourite cut of steak. (VINTAGES panel, July 2015)
