GRAND TERROIR DE BROUILLY
Overall a very sunny vintage, with little rain and therefore a water deficit, and this, from spring. Nevertheless, the significant rains of late June were beneficial and allowed the vines to continue their growth serenely to reach maturity very early in August, and offer a particularly qualitative balance.
Terroir: Located in an amphitheater around the ChΓ’teau, the vineyard is planted on sandy soils, resulting from the degradation of the granite. They are poor, acidic and shallow with rock outcrops reminiscent of the presence of the bedrock. Vinification and aging: A long vatting (18-20 days), on a partially destemmed harvest depending on the plot provenances. The vinification method consists of extraction work by alternating trapping and pumping over, and involves precise temperature control throughout fermentation. Aging partly in oak barrels for 10 months.
Tasting: The “Les Tours” vintage is characterized by its refinement and finesse. The nose opens with ripe fruits, such as blackcurrant and cherry, to move towards delicate spicy notes that give the wine a beautiful complexity. The palate has a subtle but assertive structure as well as captivating flavors, testifying to an elegant depth and a persistent aromatic intensity. This wine embodies the authenticity of this place in the heart of the Brouilly lands, offering a taste experience that is at once complex, gourmet and balanced. Food and wine pairing: The 2022 “Les Tours” vintage pairs perfectly with duck breast with cherries, thus enhancing the fruity and spicy flavors of the wine, a grilled entrecΓ΄te with herbs or a platter of mature cheeses.
