Peter Lehmann established his winery in 1979. Known as the Baron of the Barossa, he was the first Australian wine industry figure to be appointed to the Order of Australia, in recognition of his pivotal role in defining Australian fine winemaking. In 2009, he was awarded the International Wine Challenge Lifetime Achievement Award. Peter Lehmann died in 2013, at the age of 82, but his legacy continues through the great wines that bear his name.
