The Park and Tilford Distilleries first opened up back in the spring of 1957, with onsite distilling operations and storage facilities occupying approximately 24 acres, producing a variety of spirits, including a whisky by the name of “Three Feathers.”

In honour of the distillery which founded this location (including the Gardens) and shut down in 1984, we decided to team up with our good friends over at Sons of Vancouver--recently named best Canadian Whisky Producer of the Year--to dream up an exclusive whisky for our store.

After nearly 2 years of sharing ideas and meticulously sampling, blending, and revisiting multiple different barrels finishes, we collectively settled on a blend that we believe stood out in uniqueness, complexity, richness, and balance.

Three ventures, three grains, and three unique varieties of barrel (Bourbon, Port, & Islay) later, Three Feathers on the Portside was born.

“Three Feathers” is a MASTER BLEND whisky… created exclusively for The Gull Liquor Store, in partnership with our good friends just down the road at Sons of Vancouver. It is a blend of perfectly aged whiskies built from 61% rye, 27% wheat, and 12% malted barley which have been “age perfected” between 3.75 and 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, before finishing in three separate casks: tawny port, white port, and ex-Islay single malt. On the onset, bright notes of marmalade and praline open up in unison with subtle hints of orange pekoe, cigar tobacco, and dried figs, drawn out by marzipan and classic baking spice on the finish.
