Tasting Note: This is a cabernet that’s really full-on in terms of fruit, but so well structured and balanced that it’s remarkably drinkable – that is, you can effortlessly manage more than one glass. Look for plenty of complexity in the fruit, which is concentrated and nicely layered. The acidity is well pitched, cleaning up some of the fruit’s ripe-sweetness, although not so far as to make the texture juicy. The tannins are drying and slightly grippy but easily manageable. All the components are nicely integrated now, making this good drinking through to 2019. Score – 4.5 out of 5 stars. (Rod Phillips, rodphillipsonwine.com, March 2016)
